For the most current outdoor recreational & community information please visit The Skillet Creek Journal at www.skilletcreekjournal.com. We also have a pretty darn active Twitter @ http://www.twitter.com/skilletcreek and Facebook page as well. So while we won’t be blogging here at WisDells.net any longer, it’s simply because we’ve got stuff going on all over the place!! Did I mention the Devil’s Lake State Park Blog?

New piers at free public Lake Delton boat landing.
Now that Lake Delton is once again a lake, it seemed like a good time to fix up the free public boat landing at Adams Street and Canyon Road. It was completed just yesterday and already somebody thought they should try to back their vehicle right up onto on of the piers. Nice. Well, they did’nt do any damage other than some rather un-attractive tire marks. Other than that the the new landing looks great. Here at WisDells.net if you are looking for general fishing information or you need a map to figure out just where the public landing is simply visit our fishing page.

Old Century Farm House
If you’ve never stayed at one of the many vacation homes in the area you may be missing a great alternative to the big motels. It all depends what you are looking for. When we think of vacation homes we often think of "high-end" real estate that many of us could never afford. However, if you snoop around a bit you’ll find some wonderful little rural retreats and bed & breakfast inns all around the Wisconsin Dells area. and many are quite affordable The newly opened Old Century Farm House is one nice example of a rural vacation home that offers real peace and quiet in the Wisconsin countryside while still being only minutes from Wisconsin Dells.
If you are looking for a bit of pampering while getting away from it all you should check out Antiques And Lace Bed & Breakfast. When I first went to Antiques and Lace to take some photographs I was floored by their classy themed rooms, artwork and general atmosphere. Besides where else in the Wisconsin Dells area can you take a peddle boat out on a quiet country pond and feel like you have the world all to yourself?!

Welcome to the re-inaugural blog. WisDells.net has been around for a long time and we’ve tried a lot of stuff along the way. Blogging is a great way to just chat with visitors now and again so it seemed like a good idea to bring back the blog. Our little Wisconsin Dells guide has gone through a few new changes. We are bringing in more listings every day so I’m sure you’ll find something of interest. I’ve also added a new forum so you guys can share what you know with each other. Usually it’s the visitors to the area that can offer a more objective opinion so feel free to post your questions there and hopefully other readers will offer their advice and experience.
As we embark on WisDells.net version 8000.6 I want to just take a moment to thank everyone who’s been visiting over the years and welcome all the new visitors as well. It’s been with the continued support of visitors like you and the many businesses that advertise here that we’ve been able to stay up and running and even occasionally pay the bills on time! Thank you! In this new version you’ll notice we put some bubbles right on the front page for lodging, attractions & events so you can just click right on through to the "good stuff". Hopefully that will get you started.
The picture above is from Mirror Lake State Park last week. You can see that coming to the Wisconsin Dells this time of year is just perfect if you’re looking for a little quiet. Soon enough the Theme Parks and Waterparks will be jammin! Summer’s coming. . Never mind those rumors that we had snow today!
